The Chair of the Gender Equality Council, Nino Tsilosani and the GEC member, Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Mikheil Sarjveladze held a meeting with the members of the Armenian Delegation serving the visit to Georgia in view of the sharing the experience of our country in the prevention of the violence against women and the domestic violence and curbing violence.
“We hosted the Armenian Delegation – the persons working on the ratification of the Istanbul Convention and the reflection of the changes in their national legislation, necessary for the prevention of the violence against women. Armenia has already developed a number of changes in this direction, the greatest part of which is scheduled to be adopted in the future. We introduced the process Georgia has been through upon the ratification of the Istanbul Convention, overviewed the problems, impediments and challenges outlined in this process and naturally, shared our best practice”, - N. Tsilosani stated.
The Armenian Delegation is composed of the representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection; Ministry of Justice; National Institute for Labour and Social Research; Public Defender’s Office; and the Statistic Service. The meeting was attended by the members of the EU Delegation to Georgia.
