“In these days, our society bid farewell to the Patriarch of our country, His Holiness and Beatitude — a man who, for half a century, was the spiritual father of our nation and our society. A man whose legacy we have clearly witnessed in these days — it is a nation united by love. A nation that is connected to one another through one individual and by means of one individual.

The Patriarch managed to achieve something remarkable: regardless of religious affiliation, age, or political views, he was an object of great respect, great love, and deep reverence in the heart of each of our fellow citizens — a person who united everyone through this love”, - said the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.
