The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili and MPs held an enlarged meeting with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mustafa Şentop and the Turkish Delegation.

Shalva Papuashvili thanked his Turkish counterpart for the visit and the intact support of Turkey to the Euro-Atlantic aspiration of Georgia.

The parties discussed the friendly and partnership relations and the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the countries and expressed their commitment to further cooperating. In this regard, the Speakers stressed the intensification of the Inter-Parliamentary links and signed the Cooperation Document between the Parliaments.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the various directions of cooperation and underlined the successful practice of relations in the economy and tourism.

The parties touched upon the processes in the region and stressed the necessity of de-escalation in Ukraine and the prevention of war.

Mr. Papuashvili thanked Mr. Şentop for the support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. Mr. Şentop invited Mr. Pupuashvili to Turkey with the official visit.
