
The third and final reading of the draft law on amnesty produced in connection with the events of June 20 was enacted by Parliament with 79 votes in favor and 15 votes against.
The bill was drafted on the basis of the April 19 agreement of Charles Michel, based on the legislative initiative of the Georgian Dream faction.
All those who committed crimes in connection with the June 19-21, 2019 events and did not decline the amnesty will be free of criminal culpability, penalty, and probation under the bill. The person who is granted amnesty will be presumed not to have been convicted.
