The Parliament discussed the Bill on Elimination of Violence against Women and/or Domestic Violence and Protection and Aid of the Victims, and the Bill on Elimination of the Domestic Violence and Protection and Aid of the Victims of the Domestic Violence, extending the obligation of approval of the issue of the compensation and the amount of the compensation for the victim to 2025.
“The Draft imposes the obligation on the Government to issue the compensation for the victims of the violence to remunerate the inflicted damage. At that, as of January 1, 2022, the Government shall approve the amount of the compensation. The respective services for the victims are ensured by the state through the Crisis Centers, Shelters, Legal and Mental Aids, and by means of the remuneration of health damage. The extension will not impede the functioning of the services”, - the Deputy Health Minister, Tamar Barkalaia stated.
The Parliament adopted the Bill with 79 votes against 7.
