
The Parliament of Georgia considered and adopted, at III reading, a legislative amendment submitted by the Government, receiving 74 votes in favour, which provides clarification of the transitional provisions of the Law of Georgia on Higher Education.
The draft amendment was presented at the plenary session by Zviad Gabisonia, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth.
According to the amendment, the content of the law’s transitional provision is clarified, and it is explicitly stipulated that the change in the number of credits will apply, in the case of bachelor’s degree programmes, only to students enrolled from 1 September 2025.
In the case of master’s degree programmes, the change in the number of credits will apply to students enrolled from 1 September 2026.
