
Parliament supported, in the I reading and with 86 votes, amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Organizing Lotteries, Gambling and Prize Games”.
The draft law provides for an increase in the amount of fines established for violations of licensing conditions. In particular, the fine imposed on holders of casino operation permits will increase from 7,000 GEL to 20,000 GEL.
The fine for holders of slot machine salon permits will increase from 1,000 GEL to 10,000 GEL.
The fine for holders of gambling club permits will increase from 2,000 GEL to 10,000 GEL.
The fine for holders of permits for the provision of gambling and/or prize games will also increase from 2,000 GEL to 10,000 GEL, while the fine imposed on holders of permits for organizing casino, slot machine, and totalizator games in systemic-electronic form will increase from 7,000 GEL to 20,000 GEL.
The draft law was initiated by the Government of Georgia and authored by the Ministry of Finance.
