Parliament Electing Nikoloz Marsagishvili as Supreme Court Judge

The Parliament, with 83 votes in favor, approved the appointment of Nikoloz Marsagishvili as a Supreme Court judge.

Nikoloz Marsagishvili has 16 years of experience working as a judge.

Since 2020, he has been a member of the High Council of Justice of Georgia and has served as its Secretary.

Before his election to the Supreme Court, Nikoloz Marsagishvili was heard by the Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament.

Representatives from the "Georgian Dream" faction, the political group "People's Power," as well as non-parliamentary entities like the Legal Aid Service and the Bar Association, participated in the hearing process.

As explained by the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, the current judge's term expires on June 12, 2025, and the selected candidate will assume their duties starting from June 13, 2025.
