Rati Ionatamishvili and Tornike Phagava Participated in the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

The Chair of the Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamishvili, and a Committee member and Deputy Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Tornike Phagava, participated in the 19th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in New York City.

As part of the session, general debates are scheduled, during which Rati Ionatamishvili will deliver a speech on behalf of Georgia. The Georgian delegation will also take part in various bilateral and multilateral meetings.

Within the framework of the 19th session, Georgia’s mission will host a presentation of a documentary film dedicated to the development of the Paralympic movement in Georgia and the history of the rights of persons with disabilities in the country.

In addition to the parliamentary delegation, representatives of the Government Administration of Georgia, the IDPs, Labour, Health and Social Affairs Ministry, and other government agencies are participating in the international event.
