The Budget and Finance Committee supported the Letter Agreement of Change No. 5 amending the Loan Agreement (Ordinary transactions) (Batumi Bypass Road Project) between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank, dated 12 June 2017.

According to the presenter, Deputy Infrastructure Minister Mzia Giorgobiani, the amendment was signed on 2 April 2026 and concerns the extension of the loan availability period.

“The financing provided under this project was used for the implementation of the Batumi Bypass Road Project, which is already operational, as well as for the construction and rehabilitation of the Bakurtsikhe–Tsnori road section. At this stage, the rehabilitation of the Poti Bridge is underway, which has necessitated the extension of the relevant deadline”, - Mzia Giorgobiani stated.

The amendment provides for the extension of the loan closing date until 31 December 2026.
