
Within the framework of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session, the Georgian Parliamentary Delegation met with the Spanish Parliamentary Delegation.
The meeting underscored the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Georgia and Spain. The sides discussed the progress Georgia has made on its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as the security challenges in the region that require the active attention of partners.
The Georgian side informed the Spanish delegation about the grave situation in the Russian-occupied territories of Georgia and expressed gratitude for Spain’s continued support for Georgia’s territorial integrity. Georgia also reiterated its readiness for constructive engagement within the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The meeting was attended by the Head of Georgia’s Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Chair of the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee Givi Mikanadze, along with delegation members: Chair of the European Integration Committee Levan Makhashvili and First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee Mariam Lashkhi.
