
On September 22-23, Armenia hosted the NATO PA 108th Rose-Roth Seminar, which was attended by the members of the Parliamentary Delegation - Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, and Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the EU Integration Committee.
The seminar’s central topic was the geopolitical shifts in the South Caucasus and the democratic, security, political and economic processes in the South Caucasus countries.
Special emphasis was placed on the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and its impact on the region.
Members of the Armenian Government and experts commended the country’s balanced foreign policy and its significance for regional peace and security.
During the discussions, Georgian MPs expressed a positive assessment of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement, the normalization of the Armenia-Turkey relationship and their favorable effects on the region’s economic development and security.
The Georgian Delegation members emphasized the constructive role of Georgia in the peacebuilding process between Yerevan and Baku.
Ms. Lashkhi and Mr. Makhashvili also reviewed the regional situation in the shifting environment and expressed the country’s position on security challenges.
