
The Parliamentary Delegation, during their visit to the USA, held a meeting with the NDI Director, Derek Mitchell, as well as with Congressman Eric Swalwell and in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate.
At the meeting in NDI, they discussed the reforming agenda of the Georgian Parliament in various directions, including decentralization.
The parties touched upon the electoral reform and overviewed the remedies against disinformation.
Georgian MPs thanked the organization for its active support of Georgia.
According to D. Mitchell, Georgia is a priority country for NDI. He expressed his will to be engaged in reforming and supporting Georgia in this direction.
At the meeting with the Congressman, the parties discussed the security and defense capacity of Georgia, as well as NATO integration.
The Congressman pledged legal support to Georgia and noted that he will do his best to make the US executive authority hear about the necessity of more aid in the defense and security sphere for Georgia.
Georgian MPs also held a meeting with the Congressmen Alex Mooney, David Miller, Ron Estes, Andy Harris, John Rose and Andrew Clyde.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed cooperation in the economic sphere and free trade.
The Parliamentary Delegation is composed of the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Defense and Security Committee Irakli Beraia and the First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Committee, Giorgi Khelashvili.
