Georgian Parliamentary Delegation met Head of the Canadian Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly
As part of its official visit to Canada, the delegation of the Parliament of Georgia, led by the Vice Speaker of Parliament and Head of the Georgia–Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group, Nino Tsilosani, held a meeting with Hedy Fry, Member of Parliament and Head of the Canadian Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the international information environment surrounding Georgia. Nino Tsilosani emphasized the particular importance of providing partners with accurate, well-substantiated, and verified information, especially in light of the frequent dissemination of inaccurate and disinformation-based narratives on various international platforms. Special attention was devoted to issues related to the alleged misuse of the “Moscow Mechanism” and to Georgia’s legal and political arguments in this regard.

According to the Vice Speaker, the dialogue serves to promote a correct understanding and positioning of Georgia not only in Canada but also across international platforms in which Canadian representatives participate. Nino Tsilosani noted that the positions presented by the Georgian parliamentary delegation generated considerable interest, laying a solid foundation for advancing bilateral communication to a qualitatively new level in the future.

“The information we provided and the arguments presented by the Georgian side proved to be of interest to our partners. These meetings have increased interest in our country. Accordingly, we expect the cooperation process to continue in a positive direction”, - Nino Tsilosani stated.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to maintain an active dialogue, which will contribute to the proper representation of Georgia’s interests in the international arena and to the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
