
The universal-public considerations of the Draft Constitutional Law on the Changes to the Constitution and the Draft Constitutional Law on Protection of Family Values and Minors get started.
The Steering Commission on Universal-Public Consideration, chaired by the Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, holds meetings with the population in Kutaisi, Ambrolauri, Ozurgeti, Batumi, Zugdidi and Mestia on April 22-27.
Pursuant to the changes to the Constitution, Article 30 of the Constitution shall be supplemented by paragraph 3 with the formulation as follows: “protection of family values and minors are safeguarded under the Constitutional Law of Georgia, which is an integral part of the Constitution of Georgia”.
In view of enhancing the protection mechanisms of the family values based on the union of a man and a woman and the best interest of the minors, the Draft Constitutional Law stipulates the issues related to marriage, adoption and foster care, gender-affirming surgery, indication of gender in the official document, application of the gender-based concepts, assembling and information dissemination.
