
Salome Kurasbediani, the Deputy Chairperson of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, participated in a forum on water resources management in Telavi.
The forum, initiated by the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee and the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, was organized in collaboration with the USAID Economic Management Program.
During the event, Salome Kurasbediani addressed the significance of the law on Water Resources Management, emphasizing its pivotal role in environmental protection.
“The enactment of the new law on Water Resources Management, aligned with the Association Agreement with the European Union, represents a significant milestone in environmental governance. The primary objective of the aforementioned meeting is to comprehensively educate representatives of local government and the public. This endeavor aims to bolster the engagement of municipalities in the management and decision-making processes related to water resources", - Salome Kurasbediani commented after the meeting.
Forum attendees were introduced to the key directions and principles of the water resources management reform.
Notably, the meeting saw the presence of Nino Tandilashvili, the First Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, along with Giorgi Aladashvili, the state representative in the Kakheti region.
