
The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Saqr Ghobash.
During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates is developing dynamically, with high-level visits being actively carried out.
Special emphasis was placed on the significance of the visit to Georgia by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in September of last year.
The discussion also covered the ongoing war in Iran and issues of regional security, highlighting the importance of peace and stability for regional stability and economic development. The importance of both countries’ reliability in implementing bilateral economic and investment projects was underlined.
The parties discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including the deepening of parliamentary relations.
The meeting took place in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
The delegation, led by the Speaker, includes: Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee Nikoloz Samkharadze and Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee Maia Bitadze.
