“We have been assured that the EU strives to at a maximal extent accelerated the bureaucratic procedures of our EU membership application, which has already been sent to the respective departments for the development of the questionnaire”, - the Speaker stated when resuming the first visit day meetings in Brussels.

“If generally, these procedures take months, now they may be accomplished in a week. The questionnaire will be sent which will serve as the basis of the analysis of the country. Otherwise, it is up to the political decision how the decision will be accelerated concerning the granting of the status of a candidate. We shall do our job”, - he added.

According to the Speaker, the Russian aggression in Ukraine and the security of the region were one of the main issues at the meetings in Brussels.
