
The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, First Vice-Speaker Giorgi Volski, and other members of Parliament attended the civilian funeral service for individuals who went missing during the armed conflicts of the 1990s and were recently repatriated from occupied Abkhazia. The service was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi.
The Parliament members expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased. The Speaker and MPs were joined at the service by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and members of the Cabinet.
Of the 16 identified individuals, seven were military personnel, and nine were civilians.
Four of the military personnel will be buried with military honors at the Digomi Brothers' Cemetery, while the others will be interred at various locations, including family cemeteries, according to the families' wishes.
