The meeting of Shalva Papuashvili with the NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia

The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Javier Colomina to discuss the Georgia-NATO successful cooperation.


The Speaker expressed his gratitude to NATO for the support of the territorial integrity of Georgia. The parties underlined the contribution of Georgia to global security and the progress of the country on the Euro-Atlantic integration path.


The parties touched upon the Russian aggression in Ukraine and its grave consequences for the region. Providing a new geopolitical reality, the Speaker dwelt on the utmost meaning of NATO integration for Georgia and hoped that the progress of the country will be recognized at NATO Madrid Summit.


Mr. Colomina underlined the strategic importance of the South Caucasus region for NATO security and noted that Georgia is a valuable partner for NATO. He pledged that NATO will keep active cooperation with Georgia and facilitation of the democratic reforms in the country.
