The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the EU Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders.

The parties discussed the EU membership application of Georgia and the reforms aiming at the legal approximation with the EU, as well as the rule of law, human rights and judicial reform. The Speaker introduced the priorities of the Parliamentary activity noting that the Parliament will actively participate in the EU integration process of Georgia.

The parties underlined the importance of the position of the Commissioner on the EU membership application submitted by Georgia.

The parties touched upon the Russian aggression in Ukraine. The Speaker expressed his solidarity to the Ukrainian people and dwelt on the supportive steps of Georgia to Ukraine at the bilateral and international levels.

The meeting was held within the visit of the Speaker to Brussels.

The Delegation accompanying the Speaker is composed of Levan Ioseliani, Maka Botchorishvili and Levan Karumidze.
