The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, together with Members of Parliament, attended the Divine Liturgy held on the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul at the Monastery of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul on Elias Mountain in Bolnisi.
The solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Archbishop of Bolnisi, His Eminence Bishop Ephrem.
As Shalva Papuashvili noted, the Georgian Orthodox Church pays special tribute to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the two greatest pillars of the Christian faith and the Church.
“Their lives remind us that faith and devotion are eternal values. For Georgia, Christianity has never been merely a religious choice. It has become an inseparable part of our history, culture, and statehood. That is why the 1,700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion once again reminds each of us of the importance of preserving the spiritual and national values that have strengthened our country throughout the centuries”, - Shalva Papuashvili stated.
The Members of Parliament also visited the Pitareti Monastery Complex.
