
“It is the greatest delight and honor for me to host the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, H.E. Kövér László and demonstrate Georgian hospitality, history and culture to my counterpart. Our countries have shared a strategic partnership format since 2022, which underscores the particular proximity of the relations between the two countries”, - the Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili stated at the joint briefing with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, H.E. Kövér László.
According to him, while Georgia aspires to the EU and NATO membership, such partnership with and support of a member of both organizations, are of particular value for Georgia.
“In this context, our aim is to complement, enhance and enrich such strategic partnership by parliamentary direction. At the meeting, I extended my gratitude to the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. We hail and value high-level statements of Hungary that manifest clear and unconditional support to Georgia at the EU integration path; this is the pillar that is of most necessity for our country and our European future today; these are the words that we expect and anticipate to be expressed by other countries as well”, - Speaker Papuashvili stated elucidating that at the meeting, the parties gave positive assessment to the increasing dynamics of high-level visits between the two countries and highlighted the greatest potential of cooperation in the spheres of economy, trade, tourism and energy.
“Naturally, we deliberated on compliance with 12 recommendations. Georgia appreciates the experience of all member states, including Hungary on our integration road. We are committed to the substantive and practical dialogue. I would like to reiterate my words of gratitude to my counterpart for visiting Georgia. We aspire to resort to all our vigor and diligence in enhancing our strategic partnership”, - the Speaker stated.
