The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden, H.E. Andreas Norlén to discuss the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and Sweden with a particular emphasis on the importance of strengthening the inter-parliamentary relations.

Shalva Papuashvili expressed gratitude for Sweden's support for Georgia's territorial integrity and EU aspirations and highlighted the host country's significant contribution to Georgia's democratic and institutional development.

The Speaker expanded on our country's application for EU membership, reviewed Georgia’s progress on the path to EU integration, and stressed the importance of granting candidate status to Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova.

The Parliamentary Delegation is composed of MPs: Nikoloz Samkharadze, Maka Botchorishvili, Maia Bitadze, and Herman Sabo.
