
The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili met with the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Alen Simonyan.
The high frequency of high-level visits throughout the course of the 30 years of diplomatic relations, as well as the close cultural and educational linkages between the two countries, were all positively assessed by the parties.
The discussion covered collaboration between Georgia and Armenia in a number of areas, notably in the parliamentary realm.
The parties reviewed the current events in the region in detail and emphasized the importance of the memorandums of cooperation signed between the Foreign Relations and Culture Committees of the parliaments of the two countries within the framework of the visit.
Shalva Papuashvili once again confirmed Georgia's willingness to continue acting as a mediator between Armenia and Azerbaijan and promoting dialogue in order to ensure regional peace and prosperity.
The members of the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the Parliament of Georgia also participated in the meeting along with the Speakers of the Parliaments of the two countries.
