The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Georgia, Veselin Valkanov, who will soon conclude his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the meeting, the parties discussed Georgia–Bulgaria relations and the prospects for further strengthening the historically close ties between the two countries.

The discussion also covered Georgia’s relations with the European Union and the challenges affecting those relations. The participants emphasized the importance of safeguarding sovereignty and national interests in Georgia’s foreign relations, as well as the prospects for developing Georgia’s future ties with European Union member states.

The Speaker of Parliament thanked the Ambassador of Bulgaria for his contribution to deepening bilateral relations and wished him success in his future endeavors.
