The Rules and Procedural Issues Committee discussed the draft Rules of Procedure in the second reading.

The document includes changes to Article 14 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Georgia. Starting from January 1, 2025 (the next convocation of the Parliament), the remuneration for members of the Parliament will be revised, including those who hold parliamentary positions.

Speaker H.E. Shalva Papuashvili presented the change to the committee members. He explained that during the first reading of the document, the first article was amended to introduce coefficients ranging from 7 to 8.5 instead of fixed amounts. These coefficients will be applied to different positions. As a result, salaries will be determined by multiplying them by the basic official salary, which is annually determined by the state budget law.

The Committee supported the submitted bill.
