The members of the Thematic Inquiry Group met with members of the Scientific-Advisory Council for General and Preschool Education at the initiative of Tamar Taliashvili, First Deputy Chairperson of the Education and Science Committee.
Tamar Taliashvili, the head of the Scientific-Advisory Council for General and Preschool Education as well as the Thematic Inquiry Group, spoke about the need of using school resources to ensure effective teaching and learning.
According to her, it is critical that students have access to all school resources, including non-formal education, and that teachers have the necessary skills and experience to organize and conduct the teaching-learning process efficiently and thoughtfully.
"Many people have inquired about textbooks, laboratory, digital, and library resources available in our schools. It is critical that our thematic investigation not be limited to Tbilisi. The regional school environment and existing learning resources will also be investigated by the Thematic Inquiry Group. Following the thematic research, specific suggestions will be created in collaboration with specialists in the field, and their implementation will be monitored within the supervisory role”, - Tamar Taliashvili stated.
According to the Chairman of the Committee, Giorgi Amilakhvari, the purpose of the thematic inquiry is to identify and study the existing problems in the field.
"Today we discussed issues of school resources, including the problem of grading school textbooks. Thematic inquiry serves the purpose of identifying all problematic issues and classifying relevant recommendations that will serve to eliminate these problems”, - Giorgi Amilakhvari stated.
