Tamar Taliashvili: war crimes never remain unpunished

The First Deputy Chair of the Education and Science Committee, Tamar Taliashvili responded to the developments in Ukraine.

“I would like to particularly respond to the actions committed by Russia against the children. We witnessed that Russia targets the kindergartens, schools, maternity houses for the bombarding and this action is totally ungodly and dreadful. It is as well noteworthy that yesterday, the Hague International Crime Court made a respective sentence against 3 persons participating in Russia-Georgia war crimes in 2008, which means a significant message stating that the war crimes never remain unpunished”, - she stated.

The Committee discussed the Bill on Enhancement of Education Quality. According to the Deputy Education Minister, Valerian Gobronidze, the Bill aims at the improvement of the general education quality and establishment of flexible and effective mechanisms, as well as the annulment of unapplied accreditation and its partial integration in the authorization institution.

“The Bill will improve the authorization mechanism, making it simpler. It also re-regulates the authorization standards for schools”, - he stated.

The Committee approved the Bill.
