On November 15-17, the 101st NATO PA Rose-Roth Seminar was held in Belgrade, attended by Teona Akubardia, Member of the Permanent Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia.

The main topics of the event were the integration processes of the Republic of Serbia in the European and Euro-Atlantic institutions and active political, economic and security issues in the region.

During the discussion, it was noted that Belgrade's current foreign policy focus is on EU membership, promoting stability and peace in the region, as well as the country's economic reforms aimed at attracting foreign investment and creating new jobs.

During the event, the MPs discussed the activities of the Third Force in the Western Balkans. In particular, the active investment of the Russian Federation and China in the Serbian economy, which in the long run allows Russia and China to influence the course of European and Euro-Atlantic integration set by Belgrade.

According to Teona Akubardia, the meeting of the Assembly is a good opportunity to get acquainted with the situation and experience on the security challenges in the Western Balkans and the European integration process.

"It is important to discuss the interests and activities of the Russian Federation and China in a number of Balkan countries in terms of security, with the aim of hindering the country's Euro-Atlantic integration processes and placing them within its sphere of influence. EU integration is one of the top foreign policy priorities for both the Republic of Serbia and Georgia and is a way to both create prosperity and ensure European security”, - the MP stated.
