The Briefing by Gia Zhorzholiani

The Member of Parliament, Gia Zhorzholiani at the briefing today declared that the Georgian Dream has expired its capacity and needs to give way to the authority.

As he noted, the calls of the Western politicians are made in vain about the Georgian Dream to improve the situation as the Georgian Dream is the protest authority and cannot even help itself.

“The most important phenomenon we witnessed in 2012 was that we defeated the repressive and authoritarian National Movement regime. It was a historical event based on the greatest merit of Georgian Dream and Bidzina Ivanishvili but the Georgian Dream has expired itself as it was not inspired and failed to ensure the progress of the country. It was a protest action and remained as the protest action. Today, after 8 years of their assumption of authority, legitimation of this party still relies on the protest against the National Movement. Exposure, arguments and confrontation – these are the context of the current politics in Georgia. If we want the country to achieve progress and be developed, we need to change this protest authority”.

The “Social-Democrats” believe that the Georgian Dream shall not stick to the authority and shall not impede the new constructive, healthy public and political initiatives.
