The Vice Speaker, Irma Inashvili and the Chair of the Faction “Patriots of Georgia”, Giorgi Lomia held the informative briefing concerning some relevant and recent issues.
G. Lomia expressed condolences to the family of Archil Tatunashvili and called on Georgian and Ossetian people to be reasonable and hold the direct dialogue. “I would like to express my condolences to the family of Archil Tatunashvili. This is the tragedy and these tragedies damage the perspective of territorial integrity of the country. The people murdering A. Tatunashvili have fulfilled the task assigned by the destructive forces, aiming at breaking the bridge between Georgia and Ossetian people, restoration of which is of the interest of Georgia. In these grave days, Georgian and Ossetian people shall maintain reasonability and not lose each other. The direct dialogue is the only mean for restoration of friendship which has been formed for centuries”.
The statements were made concerning Borjomi City Assembly developments. The Faction members have not arrived to Borjomi for the only reason – to prevent escalation of the situation. The presence of the Faction European Georgia and the Faction National Movement in Borjomi was estimated as an attempt to gain the political points. I. Inashvili called on the Government to ensure resolution of the crisis in Borjomi City Assembly.
“There is no reality of appointment of snap elections in Borjomi. We underline that interference of the leaders from Tbilisi in Borjomi Municipality activity is not expedient. The Majority of Borjomi City Assembly consists not of the National Movement, European Georgia or Labor Party but of Alliance of Patriots. We respect Members of the Borjomi City Assembly and are confirmed in their competence. They need no our assistance through arrival. I would like to call on Georgian Dream to sit at the table and find the consensus”.
She touched upon the High Council of Justice stating that the Law on Common Courts allows the Parliament recalling the HCJ members failing to due fulfill their duties. “I have already address in writing the Speaker. At the Bureau, we will raise this issue to recall and commence due legal procedures towards the two members of the Council. Thus, the members endorsed by the Parliament will feel higher responsibility”.
I. Inashvili spoke about the fire in the Mall in Tbilisi and stated that there are some business interests outlined behind these fires and this fact shall be classified as diversion.
“In this situation, we shall set up the Governmental Commission composed of all respective Ministers. We are ready to be involved in the Commission. We shall register all the affected persons and count the damage and available resources we can use to help the people. Without scrutiny of the situation, it will mean that we refuse to timely help our citizens”.
The Faction will hold two briefings per month to answer the questions of media.
