The meeting of Ivane Kiguradze with European Experts

The Chair of Education, Science and Culture Committee met with the European experts and employees of Shota Rustaveli Scientific Fund. As noted, with coordination of the Regional and International Science, Technologies and Innovation Research and Support Center, within the regional project funded by the 7th frame program of EU Research and Technologic Development, the Field mixed export evaluation of national science, technologic and innovation system has started in Georgia.

After evaluation EU experts will develop the report and issue recommendations. The guests asked about current situation in science. I. Kiguradze spoke about the problems in this sphere. He spoke about the structure of the National Academy of Sciences.

“Georgian scientists are under the grave conditions. Despite of the fact that their salaries increased from 100-120 to 300-400 USD, it is not the sum sufficient for dignified life. Though, it is better than it was during the preceding Government”.

He spoke about the problems in education. As the experts noted, the trainings will be held to facilitate scientists participate in the program.
