The inter-parliamentary group between Georgia and the Arab Republic of Egypt was formed at the Parliament of Georgia. The Group of Friendship is headed by the MP Koba Khabazi, who held the introductory meeting with Vahid Galal, the Ambassador of the Egyptian Arabic Republic.
At the meeting the parties discussed Georgia-Egypt relations and the future plans. According to Koba Khabazi, Egypt is going to carry out the significant economic projects and investments in Georgia; the utilization of the Georgian Territory as a transit corridor for the import of the wheat from Kazakhstan to Egypt is planned as well.
It was noted at the meeting that in order to more strengthen relations between the two countries it will be desirable to open the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Georgia. According to the statement of the MP, the bilateral meetings and working visits will be held with purpose of deepening the relations between the parliamentary groups of the two countries.
