The Vice-Speaker, Manana Kobakhidze met with the Chair of European Affairs Committee of Latvian Parliament, Lolita Čigāne.

The parties spoke about aspiration of Georgia to EU and NATO. Mrs. Čigāne once more expressed support of Latvia to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.

As Mrs. Kobakhidze stated, Latvia, as in capacity of Baltic and Nordic countries, is a very important supporter of Georgia.

“I would like to once again underline that support of Georgia at Warsaw summit by NATO member states shall necessarily to be clear and tangible. In this regards, we expect Latvian Parliament and the Government to express intact support. As you know, we expect positive report on visa liberalization until summer. Latvia, in decision-making on visa free regime, is an active supporter of our territorial integrity, de-occupation and non-recognition policy. The Latvian Parliament, along with Ukraine, dedicated the range of statements to sovereignty and de-occupation issues of Georgia. Thus, it was once more evidence of our bilateral and very productive cooperation”, - Manana Kobakhidze stated.
