The Meeting of Rusudan Kervalishvili, the Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia with the Group of Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) Group of MA Researchers

The gender equality was the core issue of interest at the meeting of Rusudan Kervalishvili, the Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament with the Columbia International University School of International and Public Affairs MA researchers’ group.   

Rusudan Kervalishvili spoke about the importance of involvement of the women in the political processes. As she stated, the Gender Equality Council was established at the Parliament of Georgia, which is a permanent institution and makes steps in the direction the gender equality protection. The Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament introduced the Action Plan of the Gender Equality Council to the guests and the legislative activities undertaken by the Parliament in the direction of the gender equality.

According to the statement of Rusudan Keravsihvili, the statistical data and conduct of analysis is crucial for the successful operation of the parliamentary Gender Equality Council and achievement of the real results. As she stated, the education system reform is ongoing in compliance with the gender equality principles.
