
The First Deputy Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Zaza Khutsishvili met with the Parliamentary Delegation of Indonesia.
“First of all, I would like to thank the Indonesian Government for support to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. It is very important for us as we have 20% of territories occupied. So, we value support of all the countries and recognition that Georgia is the sovereign country enjoying the right to select the allies and political orientation”, - Z. Khutsishvili stated.
It is important that soon, the Indonesian Diplomatic representation will be open in Georgia. “We will be glad to enhance relations as in political aspect so in cultural and economic directions”, - he stated.
The parties discussed the global challenges related to safe and healthy environment for the population, as well as environmental protection and natural resource management, regional relations and sustainable development.
As the guests stated, it is important to know the achievements of Georgian Parliament in open governance policy terms. They asked about the environmental protection joint projects opportunities and hoped for set up of the Friendship Group to facilitate to close inter-Parliamentary relations.
As the Head of the Indonesian Delegation, Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee stated, in 2018 Indonesia hosts the Sustainable Development Forum attended by the Georgian Parliament as well.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chair, Endzela Machavariani.
The meetings are scheduled with the Chair of the Sector Economy Committee, Roman Kakulia, Chair of Foreign Relations Committee, Sophio Katsarava and the representatives of the Environmental Ministry.
