The Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Zviad Kvachantidze met with the Director General of the LEPL Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, Manana Mikaberidze.

The parties discussed the priorities of the Foundation: facilitation to the Georgian and scientific studies, protection and promotion of material, cultural and social heritage. The parties touched upon the Georgian material and spiritual heritage abroad and the state grant programs for their studies.

The parties attached particular attention to the state scientific grants for the joint studies by the compatriots abroad aiming at close professional cooperation of Georgian scientists with the Georgian compatriots abroad, application of their potential and facilitation to their adaptation to Georgian scientific circle.

M. Mikaberidze spoke about importance of the library and the archive of Georgian Church in Istanbul and noted that Georgia shall do its best to ensure full accessibility to the archive for Georgian scientists.

Z. Kvachantiradze hoped that the Foundation will actively support study of the Georgian archive in Istanbul.
