Brussels hosts the EaP and EU Foreign Affairs Ministerial, attended by the Co-Chair of EuroNest PA, Victor Dolidze.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini and EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, Johannes Hahn delivered the welcome speeches.

The delegates discussed progress in terms of priorities adopted on EaP Riga Summit and further enhancement of cooperation taking revision of European neighborhood policy. EU hailed the progress in cooperation with partner countries and underlined importance of more progress for the summit scheduled in 2017.

The delegates discussed security issues in the region and in the world. EU representatives noted progress by Georgia on EU integration path, as well as progress in terms of visa liberalization by member states. EU gave the positive estimation to efforts by Georgian Government in reforming and underlined importance to maintain the pace in political association and economic integration.

As the Georgian Foreign Minister, Mikheil Janelidze noted, EaP has played the crucial role in EU approximation of Georgia. He introduced Georgian vision on priority directions providing EU-partner states inter-relation and enhancement of trade-economic cooperation. He also hoped for prompt accomplishment of visa liberalization with EU.

The representatives of all the countries expressed support to visa liberalization for Georgia.

V. Dolidze delivered the speech in capacity of the Co-Chair of EuroNest PA. He thanked Mrs. Mogherin and Mr. Hahn for the document introduced reflecting the post Riga-Summit period and recommendations. He introduced the information about EuroNest activity and scheduled events. “It is necessary to develop individual approaches in terms of sector reforming and progressive steps by the countries”.

He also noted importance of quality of independence of judicial system. He thanked the Ministers for support of visa free regime for Georgia and hoped for prompt accomplishment of the process. He emphasized the tragedy in Khurcha and stated that the incident once more clearly revealed the real face of the occupant country. Such facts shall be prevented, he stated, and responded in due manner, requiring enhanced monitoring by international missions.

The Ministerial was also participated by EU Commissioner for Enlargement, J. Hahn, Foreign Ministers of EaP 6 member states and EU member states, as well as high officials. The Ministerial was attended by European Investment and European Reconstruction and Development Banks.
