The Deputy Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Vladimer Chachibaia held the meeting with the Ambassador of Ukraine, H.E. Ihor Dolhov to discuss the regional security, current challenges of Georgia and Ukraine and the bilateral cooperation issues, especially in the field of defense.

"Historically, Ukraine has always been a friend of Georgia and we - a friend of Ukraine. Ukraine proved its friendship with Georgia not only in words but also in practice, back when Georgia was fighting for territorial integrity in the 1990s, where Russia was openly or covertly part of this war. Ukraine was the only country that physically stood by Georgia, their citizens fought and died for the sake of our country. I would like to extend my gratitude to them for their support and I hope that the cooperation between these two countries will continue in the future", - V. Chachibaia remarked after the meeting.
