Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Alexander Tabatadze, positively assesses the activities of the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Mamuka Mdinaradze, and discusses the steps taken toward the country’s development.
“What has Mamuka Mdinaradze achieved in 8 months – a non-exhaustive list:
A 30-fold increase in operational information within the State Security Service.
Prevention of a coup attempt within one day and arrest of the organizers.
For the first time in the history of Georgian investigations – solving a crime using internet traffic identification data (detailed reports from mobile applications).
Detention of hundreds of individuals for corruption, including high-ranking political officials.
For the first time in the past two decades – arrest of spies (including Russian spies).
Exposure of schemes involving external funding and assignments from foreign intelligence services.
Debunking BBC disinformation with investigative evidence.
Doubling of the State Security Service budget, full renewal of material-technical equipment, special tools, and vehicle fleet.
Salary increases of up to 35% for service employees.
Provision of new housing for 70 distinguished, large-family, and homeless employees of the Service.
Establishment of the State Security Academy.
Recruitment of more than 500 new employees.
Meetings with heads of intelligence services from several countries (including the United States) and strengthening of cooperation.
Solving dozens of cases related to false reports, and the import of explosive and radioactive substances into the country.
For the first time in Georgia’s intelligence history – development of an intelligence strategy across specific directions.
Detention of members of terrorist organizations and individuals linked to them.
Release of 45 illegally detained prisoners from occupied territories.
Generalship.
'Until yesterday, the UNM opposition only focused on the issue of generalship; yesterday, they set a new record of incompetence by failing to distinguish between the agency and an even more responsible official status…
In short, it will not be possible to divert attention from the main and factual issues!
The main achievements are yet to come!’ – states Alexander Tabatadze”.
