The Deputy Chair of the Education and Science Committee, Baia Kvitsiani, within the framework of her visit to Sweden, held a meeting with the Head of the Friendship Group with Georgia of the Riksdag, Gudrun Brunegård and the Group members, Hanna Gunnarsson and Susanne Nordström.

The meeting aimed at stressing the close cooperation between the countries and the determination of further relations. B. Kvitsiani thanked the Swedish side for supporting Georgia at the international level.

The particular attention at the meeting was attached to the EU integration of Georgia. B. Kvitsiani hoped that the EU member states would share the recommendation of the European Commission and that the European Council would make a decision in December on granting the EU candidate status to Georgia.

The parties discussed the visit of the Swedish Friendship Group to Georgia next year.
