Working Group Established to Develop Recommendations for Improving the Socio-Economic Conditions of Families with Children held Off-Site Meeting
A working group established under the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee to develop recommendations aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of families with children held an off-site meeting in Batumi.

In his opening remarks, the Chair of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee and head of the working group, Zaza Lominadze, spoke about strengthening the institution of the family and the state programs supporting families with children.

During the working meeting, the Head of the Georgia Office of the UNFPA, Mariam Bandzeladze, presented an analysis of the main components of demographic sustainability.

The discussion also addressed a study on the reproductive attitudes of young people, which was presented to participants by Nino Lomia, Consultant to the UNFPA.

Participants discussed measures aimed at improving the social conditions of families with children.

The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee, Zaza Lominadze, and committee members; the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee and the Interim Parliamentary Commission on Women’s and Children’s Issues, Mariam Lashkhi; and the Chair of the political group “People’s Power,” Dimitri Khundadze.

The meeting was also attended by the Chair of the Supreme Council of Ajara AR, Tsotne Ananidze, and the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Ajara AR, Nino Nijaradze.
