"Diasporic direction flourished in the bosom of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This played a particularly immense role during the pandemic and helped our compatriots living abroad to feel that they are protected by the state, and these are not mere words. This was ensured by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Corps", - Beka Odisharia, the Chairperson of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, stated at the annual meeting of heads of Georgian diplomatic missions abroad, Ambassadors Conference 2022.

Beka Odisharia thanked the representatives of the diplomatic corps. According to him, the diaspora is one of the main generators of the Georgian economy, and its contribution is increasing every year.

As Beka Odisharia pointed out, it is important that successful Georgian diasporas make investments in Georgia, and the role of the Georgian diplomatic corps in this matter is particularly large.

"Through a variety of media, we were able to engage with thousands of young diasporas in the past year. We decided that successful businesses should be invited after consulting with the Prime Minister. The role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors and the diplomatic corps is immeasurable”, - Beka Odisharia clarified.

The conference attendees heard speeches from Georgia's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. The heads of Georgia's diplomatic missions overseas and structural divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attend the annual Ambassadors Conference or Ambassadorial.
