Meeting of David Songulashvili with the Speaker of the Parliament of Qatar

The Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, David Songulashvili, within the framework of his official visit to Qatar, met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Qatar, H.E. Mr. Hassan bin Abdulla Al-Ghanim and deliberated on economic cooperation prospects.
The emphasis was placed on investments and trade relations. The parties touched upon the regional challenges noting the significance of parliamentary relations in terms of the facilitation of the negotiations on pressing points and peaceful resolutions.
“We highlighted that the development and economic progress of our countries require the peaceful resolution of the world conflicts. In this context, we discussed the Russia-Ukraine, Azerbaijan-Armenia, and Israel-Palestine processes. As I stressed, Georgia is committed to getting engaged in any format of peacebuilding negotiations for ensuring peace in the region. Our colleagues from Qatar reaffirmed their support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within the internationally recognized borders”, - D. Songulashvili noted.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Qatar, H.E. Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti; the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, H.E. Mr Yousef bin Ali Al-Khater ; the Chair of the Economic Committee, H.E. Mr. Mohamed bin Yousef Abudelrahman Almana and the Head of the Qatar-Georgia Friendship Group, H.E. Mr. Mohd bin Fahad Seif Al-Mesallam; and from the Georgian side, the members of the Georgia-Qatar Friendship Group, Gela Samkharauli, Victor Sanikidze, Gocha Enukidze, Irakli Zarkua, Irma Zavradashvili and Rima Beradze; also the Temporary Charge D’Affaires of Georgia to Qatar, Teimuraz Kereselidze.
