Davit Songhulashvili: Right to property, freedom of media and expression is one of the key priorities of Georgia

David Songhulashvili, Chairman of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, met with the Members of the PACE Monitoring Committee, Titus Corlățean, Claude Kern, and Bass Klein to discuss the amendments to the Law of Georgia on Electronic Communications, which envisages the appointment of a special manager by the decision of the Communications Commission. In this regard, the focus was on the recommendations of the Venice Commission.
According to D. Songhulashvili, "freedom of property, media and expression is one of the top priorities of the country and by adopting this law and appointing a designated manager, these values will not be endangered in the future”.
As the Chair of the Committee noted, the recommendations of the Venice Commission and active and effective cooperation between the parties are especially important.
