The Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee approved the Draft Organic Law on Georgian Citizenship with the II Reading

The Committee discussed with the II reading the Draft Organic Law on Georgian Citizenship submitted for expedited consideration.
As the Chair of the Committee, Beka Odisharia stated, Georgian citizens are to be allowed to restore or retain their citizenship in a simplified manner.
The Draft extends the term for retention or restoration of Georgian citizenship by two years.
“We approve and support the processes facilitating the restoration of the links of the Georgian diasporas with their homeland”, - he noted.
The Committee members expressed no remarks and approved the Draft.
