The Economic Policy Committee considered, at its II reading, the draft law on Public Procurement, which concerns the postponement of the entry into force of the main provisions envisaged by the Law of Georgia on Public Procurement.

The draft law and the related legislative package, consisting of 31 draft laws, were presented by Vakhtang Bachiashvili, Parliamentary Secretary of the Government. He noted that, following the first reading, the draft had been resubmitted to the Committee without amendments.

According to the draft law, which is being considered under an expedited procedure, the main provisions of the Law will enter into force on 1 January 2030, instead of 1 January 2027.
