Meeting of Irakli Beraia with the US Ambassador

The Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia held a meeting with the US Ambassador, H.E. Robin L. Dunnigan.
The parties deliberated on the strategic cooperation aspects and the US support in the defense and security spheres.
“The role of the United States of America in the enhancement of the national security and defense capacity of Georgia is imperative. The strategic partnership between our countries is of utmost importance not only for our national defense interests but for the enhancement of regional security. Further enhancement of our relations with the USA constitutes the particular interest of Georgia. At the meeting, we discussed the strategic partnership between our countries and the cooperation in the defense and security spheres”, - I. Beraia stated.
Per the assessment of the US Ambassador, the meeting was productive and interesting.
“We overviewed the USA-Georgia strategic partnership directions, namely, in the security sphere. I believe our collaboration in the security direction is one of the most fundamental pillars of our strategic partnership. We discussed the ways to further support the NATO and EU aspirations of Georgia. I highly value our partnership and appreciate the role that Mr. Beraia played in the enhancement of our relations in the defense and security spheres”, - Mme. Dunnigan noted.
The meeting was attended by the US Embassy Attaché, Joseph Bilbo.
