The Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Sesiashvili and the Deputy Chairs Irakli Beraia, Irakli Abesadze and Koba Kobaladze met with the US Congress Delegation members.

According to I. Sesiashvili, USA is the special strategic partner to Georgia and the locomotive in EU and NATO integration.

“We enjoy the full political conformity in terms of peace, stability and security in the region and in Georgia. We are grateful for political and practical support in defense and security sphere. On daily basis, US representatives and experts are engaged in defense capacity of our country, including by means of the financial support”.

Acquisition of the military equipment conditioning increased defense capacity of our country was achieved with US support.

“I mean the anti-tank systems. We also want to acquire the anti-air systems and training for our soldiers. We have the military readiness program backed by US partners to train 24000 military-men”. And full political support especially evident in recent years from USA to Georgia is paramount: “We expect this partnership to be further enhanced”, - he noted.
